  1. Hi Matt(^^)!

I'd like to answer the first question.

My favorite genre is comedy.Because when I watch the movie I want to relax and laugh.

SF movies don't attract me so much(I don't like alians, espers・・and so on),so except for SF,I like almost all movies. And the film I want to watch changes with season. In the winter I like to see a romantic movie as I feel lonely!

    See you next class!

  2. Hi, Matt!

I'd like to answer the first question.
    I love comedy!
I don't have to think seriously during watching comedy, so I can reflesh myself.
    Especially, I like love-comedy ^^

But I always watch all kinds of movies if my favorite actors appear on it.
Do you know "Norway no Mori" written by Murakami Haruki?
This novel is cinematized, and I want to watch it!
Actually, I don't like romantic movie like it,(and it may be so serious movie...), but I'll watch it because my favorite actor appears on it;)

    See you next class!

  3. Hi Matt.

I would like to answer the 3rd question.
I watched the top of left corner.
It was very eccentric and really fantastic!
I think your favorite animator is more creative than I've ever seen.
By the way, my favorite animator is
    Hayao Miyazaki,may be you know.
His film is also fantastic but sometimes make me sad....because he deals with a little serious problems on nature in his main theme.
Anyway I think anybody enjoy his story and beautiful pictures^^

  4. Hi, Matt!

I'd like to answer the second question.

Just last week I watched Chinese movie in the lesson of this university.
It was rare chance for me because I always watch movies made in Japan and America.
This Chinese movie told me about actual society, serious problems of China and many cultures.
Especially, what kind of cloths people wore at that time was impressive for me.
I think their cloths were a little out of date..

I want to try to watch movies made in foreign countries!

    See you lext lesson!

  6. Hi Matt.
I'd like to answer the third question.
I watched Bendito Machine on the site of Zumabakamera. It is very creative, surrealistic, and... I felt a little primitive humanity or ethnicity.
My favorite animator is Takashi Murakami, from Japan. He collaborated with Louis Vuitton and made a fantastic short animation named Superflat First Love. You can watch it on Youtube.
    I recommend.

    See you.

  7. Hello, Matt!

Q1. I don't see movies so often now, but I remember seeing a lot of animated films by Walt Disney Pictures such as “Lion King”, “Peter Pan” and “One Hundred and One Dalmatians” (of course, dubbed in Japanese) when I was a kid. I think they are classic films and especially I like music used in the story so much, although I don’t know exactly what genre they are categorized into. I’d like to see them again in original English scripts when I have some time.

    See you!

  8. Hi, Matt.

I would like to answer the 2nd question. I've ever seen (as far as I can remember) Japanese, German, French, Russian, Hungarian and of course a lot of American films. I think French movies are very unique. About two years ago I saw a French movie "Jeux D'enfants" (in English "Love Me If You Dare") in a German course in Germany. The movie had no definite ending, I mean, it could be interpreted more or less as you like! It was like a dream, so it could be both happy and sad. The most French films are melancholic and leave their ending open, and some of them have also so-colled stereotypes about Japanese people. In "Taxi 2 (or 3)" the main charakter has to say "Ninja!" to start the engine of his taxi! But I love the movie!

  9. Hi, Matt! I'll answer the first question.
I love action movies! When I see these kinds of movies, I need not to think any complicated things or problems. I can see a hero fighting against enemies, that's all. It's very simple.
Do you know the movie of "Rush Hour"? This is my favorite action movie. Jackie Chan plays...someone(sorry, I forgot!).
    If not, please try!

  10. Hi, Matt! I like French movies. French movies are really profound in various ways. They are difficult to understand at first because they're complicated and sometimes messy, but it faxcinates me and after watching some times, I notice that there are the philosophic ideas. When I notice and understand this idea, I feel the satisfactory and feel like learning something important.

  14. Hi, Matt!
I'd like to answer the third question.
My favorite animator is Tim Burton.
I recommend you his animation movie “Nightmare before Christmas”. The characters of the movie are popular in Japan, but many people don't know the movie!
I think everyone can enjoy the story and Tim Burton's world!

  15. Hello Matt!
I'd like to answer the 1st question. I love a romantic comedy. I think, jokes are the best way to express the opinion. Prody is also one of my favorite category of movies. And, some kind of movies are too tragic to see. If I watch the serious movie, that must be "happy end", then I love it ;) It is also very important for me to choose non-hollywood-movies. The small productions have no money to commerce their movies, that is why, they make really good movies, I think.
    see you tomorrow!

  17. Hi,Matt!

I'd like to answer the 1st question.
I like action movies the most. In most of them, we can see justice beats villain. When I see that, I feel good and I don't have to think anything. For example, I like the“Spiderman series”and “Star wars series”.
However, I don't like love stories or something romantic ones, because I'm not old enough to understand them. And some movies, we have to watch with knowing that hero or heroin will die of disease or accident at last.I can't stand that.

    See you!

  20. Hi, Matt!

I'd like to answer the 1st question.
I like fantasy movies, because it gives me warm feeling after watching it.
Last Friday, I watched "Enchanted" made by Walt Disney Co. It is so cute story, but has also points that makes us think about our lifestyle.
That fantasy has some kind of serious and difficult messages is the reason why I love it.

    See you today's class!

  21. Hi, Matt!

I'd like to answer the second question.
I've seen some Cambodian movies. One of them I saw was the mixture of one folktale and a modern horror story.
In the movie, I learned Cambodian culture a lot. For example, I got to know how they catch fish in countryside. They use a kind of small basket made of bamboo.
I also learned traditional Cambodian ghosts. I was pretty surprized to know that one of them was really similar to the one in Japan!!
It's so fun to see movies in different countries because there are lots of cultural findings!!
    See you :)

  25. Hi, Matt!

I'd like to answer the second question.
I love Ghibli movies because they teach us a lot thing that are important for us such as love and peace especially the importance of nature.
Among all of Gibli movies I have watched, I like "Mononoke-Hime" the most. This story is about a girl who is brought up by a Japanese wolf. After we watched this movie, we strongly feel that we should conserve the nature.
I hope "Mononoke-Hime" will be watched by people around the world.

    See you later!

  27. Hi,Matt!

I'd like to answer the first question.

My favorite genre is romantic comedy drama(?) like Love Actually. Because it make me so enjoy and feel refreshed.
My favorite movies I saw in this genre have something the in common. It is that Hugh Grant is in the movie. So sometimes I just choose a movie that he acts.
